Game: Golspie Sutherland FC v St Duthus FC (North Caledonian League)
Date: Saturday, February 11th, 2017
Venue: King George V Park, Golspie
Referee: Gordon Seago
Assistants: David Cowie & Tommy Creighton
THE SAINTS will return to competitive action tomorrow with a trip to Golspie, ending a fortnight spell away from league duty. The last outing for St Duthus was a home league game against Alness in January which ended in a 1-1 draw. They will now be looking to get back to winning ways.
Squad wise, the manager Stuart Ross will hope to include new signings Craig Sutherland and John Mackay, while the only absentees of note are Liam Rostock and Alan Davis, who remain out of the country.
The past fortnight has been a busy one for the club, as Stuart Ross reaffirmed this week:
The past two weeks have given us a good opportunity to look at some players who haven't featured as much this season. Training numbers have continued to remain high, which they have all season, and the buzz within the squad is great. We'll be looking to take some of the good performances I've seen in our friendly matches along with the commitment in training into the game tomorrow.
Last Saturday, Golspie lost 0-2 to Orkney, the Sutherland side unable to capitalise on any momentum they might have had after winning the North Caledonian Cup, which they secured in dramatic fashion a fortnight ago with a 2-1 win over league leaders Invergordon at Brora. Their position, though, a point behind the Saints with 3 games in hand, is an advantageous one, and recent form would certainly dictate that they will go into tomorrow's game as the favourites.
