FORMER Golspie Sutherland pairing Craig Ross and Miller Mackay are the latest names to join the Saints this summer as Stuart and Andrew Ross continue to build the squad for the new season.
Craig Ross, 23, also a former Brora Rangers man, played with Golspie last season and helped the Sutherland side on their way to the North Caledonian Cup, playing as a striker. He joins his brother Ewan who signed for the Saints last season.
Miller Mackay, 21, also played with Golspie during 2016-17 and was a part of the successful North Caledonian Cup side. A former Brora Rangers and Clachnacuddin youth, Miller played most recently with Rothes in the Highland Football League before joining Golspie Sutherland last season.
Regulars with their local summer recreational side Lairg Rovers AFC, they have both enjoyed amateur success with their side in recent times, winning the North West Sutherland Amateur League for the first time in 2016.
Manager Stuart Ross expressed his delight today at securing the services of Craig and Miller.
We watched both players with keen interest last year in games where they played against us and they've been on the radar for some time, both for Golspie and in pre-season when they represented Lairg. Both are big captures who bring great experience while still at a young age, and will fit in really well with the ethos we have here at Saints in trying to encourage and develop the potential of players in the local area.
