A RACE NIGHT was held in the Royal Hotel last night in aid of club funds, raising over £900 towards the season ahead. Close to forty people were in attendance as preceedings began at 8pm under the expert hosting of Stephen Masson of Odds On Races.
Eight races took place with eight horses running, each owned by a member or supporter of St Duthus FC. The following race owners were successful in seeing their horse run to victory on the night:
A game of Heads and Tails kicked the night off, which was won by Liam Mcleod and at half time, a closely fought contest saw Ian Ross pip Ivan Wallace to the winners's prize in an explosive game of Closest Coin to the Bottle. St Duthus chairman Niall Harkiss won the Name That Tune contest.
The club wishes to thank Stephen for his excellent work throughout the night looking after our guests, and also the Royal Hotel who provided a wonderful venue and great hospitality in the Clan Ross room. Finally, we wish to thank everyone who bought a horse, or came along to the night itself to enjoy the games. We hope to hold another night again in the near future.
