Date: Saturday, October 28th, 2017
Kick-off: 2:30pm
Venue: The Links Playing Fields, Tain
Referee: Stephen McDade
Assistant referees: Graham John & Callum McCruden

It's back to league action for the Saints tomorrow, as they welcome Thurso to the Links for what will be their fifth match of the campaign. With games in hand, St Duthus now have an opportunity to put some points on the board and climb up the rankings, in amongst a tight league table.

Within that pack, Thurso and St Duthus currently boast the best defensive records, having conceded just six goals each in four games. The Vikings, however, are the only team who have yet to suffer defeat in the league -- and that is reflected in their league position as the leaders of the Macleod & MacCallum North Caledonian League by one point.

The game will be a tough ask for the Tain men, who are looking to get back to winning ways, having lost to Golspie and Inverness in their last two league games. Despite winning their first three, Thurso's most recent game ended in disappointment, throwing away a 2-1 lead at neighbouring Halkirk, settiling in the end for a draw.

St Duthus will be without Adam MacDonald who continues to recover from injury, while Lewis Ross will also miss out due to work commitments.

Saints manager Stuart Ross is aware of the threat Thurso pose:

Thurso came down to Tain last year and carried out the perfect game plan - holding tight for the first thirty, scoring a goal then keeping it tight for the remainder of the the match before adding a second. It was an accomplished performance, but we can’t give them too much respect this time around. We must understand that a win is what we need to haul ourselves back into the mix at the top end of the league.

With home advantage we need to go out and take the game by the scruff of the neck and be at our best to take all three points.

As ever, tomorrow's game will be completed by hot food, drinks and snacks provided by our tea hut, and a match programme will on sale along with raffle tickets.
