THE LEAGUE games keep coming in the Macleod & MacCallum North Caledonian League and this weekend St Duthus are on the road for a game against Easter Ross neighbours Alness United.
As regards team news, Martyn Farquhar is available once again following his two match suspension, while it is hoped that Jon Campbell and Adam MacDonald should both be back in contention, pending late fitness tests. Lewis Ross, Sam Beeston and Garry Macleod miss out due to work commitments, while Ewan Ross remains on the sidelines.
Following last weekend's 2-0 defeat at home to Orkney, St Duthus carry on regardless with their hunt for a change in fortunes. Manager Stuart Ross has remained optimistic throughout.
The Orkney game left us with several positives to take, despite the result. Orkney are a very good side, who have been dishing out some heavy defeats on the road this year. For us to keep within touching distance was a credit to the boys, who put a good shift in and were unlucky not to score.
We're looking forward to this weekend's game now. We trained well on Wednesday, a great response and turnout, and the boys are in the right frame of mind for this one. Against Alness it's a a big game, a local derby of sorts for us, so it would be a good platform for us to get a win on the board.
They'll obviously be looking to bounce back following their heavy defeat to Golspie, but I'm sure we will see something more like the Alness "first team" turn out on Saturday, rather than the youth team.
Owing to a midweek venue change due to a waterlogged pitch at Dalmore Park, the Highland Football Academy 3G pitch in Dingwall will now be used as a neutral venue for the game.
A pitch inspection will take place at the HFA on Saturday morning.
