Game: Halkirk United FC v St Duthus FC (Macleod & MacCallum North Caledonian League)
Date: Saturday, February 17th, 2018
Venue: Morrison Park, Halkirk
Referee: Graham John
Assistant referees: Stewart Ross & Stephen Tait
A TRIP to Caithness awaits the Saints tomorrow as they visit Morrison Park to lock horns with Halkirk United in their latest Macleod & MacCallum North Caledonian League match.
St Duthus will be looking to tomorrow's game as the prime opportunity to inject some life into their league campaign and put some points on the board for the first time since September. The Saints' 4-1 cup win over Halkirk just a fortnight ago will be fresh in the mind of both clubs and the Tain men will be looking to repeat that impressive outcome and take all three points.
But manager Stuart Ross is keen not to base too much on their recent victory over the Anglers.
The win a fortnight ago was pleasing but I'm sure that Halkirk will be an entirely different prospect on their own turf. We will need to be on our game and we need to hit the ground running. We also have a number of absences to contend with, due to injuries and others who miss out due to work.
The Saints will still be without Adam MacDonald who recovers from a dislocation, while Joe Sutherland is also an injury doubt. Forward men Scott Miller and Lewis Ross are expected to be back in contention, however messrs Glenn Fell, Rory Patience, Barry Kenny, Sam Beeston and Martyn Farquhar all remain unavailable due to work commitments.
The game kicks off at 1.30pm. At present, there are no concerns regarding the pitch at Halkirk United as the weather looks to be favourable.
