Game: Inverness Athletic FC v St Duthus FC (Jock Mackay Memorial Cup Semi Final)
Date: Saturday, April 14th, 2018
Venue: Pavilion Park, Muir of Ord
Referee: Gordon Seago

A PLACE in the Jock Mackay cup final is at stake this Saturday as St Duthus meet Inverness Athletic in the semi final at Muir of Ord. The game immediately follows the impressive 1-0 win for the Saints over Shetland last Saturday, which saw Ken Morrison snatch a late winner for the home side.
St Duthus manager Stuart Ross said this week,
"The victory against Shetland was a fantastic result, against a really strong Shetland side who are always expected to be contenders for whatever cup they enter. The win has presented us with a great chance to reach another cup final and finish our season on a high. Looking ahead to tomorrow's semi final, we know Inverness well and it will be good to lock horns with them. We know what a difficult prospect Inverness can be on their own park, so we will need to be at our best."
The Saints go into the game with the usual absences due to work commitments, as Barry Kenny, Martyn Farquhar and Lewis Ross miss out, alongside Glenn Fell who is yet to make his return. The team will be bolstered by the returns, however, of captain Jon Campbell, Scott Miller, Liam Rostock and Ewan Ross, the latter returning from suspension.
Only goal difference separates the sides in the Macleod & MacCallum North Caledonian League, which now approaches its end. The head to head record between the teams this season was settled in the early part of the season, with the score sitting even at 3 goals to 3. With the last game having been played in Otober, it has been some time since they last met.
Since that time, Inverness have appointed a new manager in Shane Carling following the departure of Tommy Wilson and it is expected that the personnel involved could be quite different this time around. Athletic's recent form has seen them lose their last four games, albeit against some tough sides; with their last win having been in the Quarter Final of the Jock Mackay Cup against Lewis & Harris. Goalkeeper Sandy Stephen is Athletic's only noted absence due to serving a two match suspension.
