SAINTS this week confirmed the signing of Ross Tokely, who joins the club for the remainder of the 2018-19 campaign - and the veteran defender has confirmed his intention to remain with club into the 2019-20 season.
Having trained with St Duthus since December last year, the former Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Ross County man made his debut in red and white as a trialist at the turn of the year, helping Saints to a memorable 2-0 win over Alness United on what was also the club's return to Grant Park. He provided an all-important assist the weekend after and was instrumental in helping Saints to their first post-revival win over rivals Invergordon.
Ross will balance his Saints availability with his commitment as a youth coach with Inverness CT - but he readily admits to having already caught the "Saints bug", having relished the opportunity to pull on the strip.
"I am really enjoying being back on the pitch and the tremendous spirit in the team. The two wins against Alness and Invergordon have been very enjoyable and I can see the boys confidence growing, which I am delighted to be a part of. I appreciate Stuart and Andrew giving me a chance to play and offer my experience to the lads on and off the pitch. I can see the passion of everyone at the club and I have been impressed with the set up. The body is holding up, just, so I will do my very best for the team in the games I have left before I go back to coach at Caley."
Ross is expected to be in the squad for the Saints' first away trip of 2019, as the club tackles the long trip across the Pentland Firth to play Orkney.
