Just over fifteen years have passed since St. Duthus sent a team up to Bonar Bridge on North Caledonian League duty. That visit ended in a ten goal thriller with five goals apiece. A lot has changed since 2004!
St. Duthus are in a rich vein of form just now. Their comprehensive victory over Invergordon last week pushed them up to third place in the Macleod & MacCallum North Caledonian League and with a win this weekend they will look to continue to jockey for position at the top end of the competition.
Squad wise, Saints remain at relatively full strength. Liam Rostock and Craig Munro are both expected to be available for selection again having recovered from injury, while Paul Beaton is also set to join the pool again, having completed a two match suspension. Scott Miller, Jake Lockett and new signing Finlay MacLeod join Ross Tokely as the noted absentees for the trip across to Bonar.
The manager Stuart Ross is upbeat about all things Saints right now, with the team's on the field form just one of the reasons why more people should be getting behind the team right now.
Scott Cowan and Miller Mackay's Bonar charges will be looking for any sign of improvement since they last played, having lost out to Halkirk United a fortnight ago. A 2-4 defeat at home to the Anglers ended up being their fifth loss of the season, as they continue to chase their first points of the season. It is very early days for the new boys though, who have yet to find their groove. That said, there are no easy games in the North Caley and despite their league position and form thus far, no one at St. Duthus shall be taking the game for granted.
With the weather having been wet in the recent days, no immediate concerns have been reported regarding the Migdale pitch - although as ever, it'll come down to the day itself with some rain forecast for Saturday.
