Game: Bunillidh Thistle vs. St. Duthus (North Caledonian League)
Date: Saturday, February 29th, 2020
Venue: Couper Park, Helmsdale
Weather: Cloudy (5°)
Referee: Stephen McDade
Assistant referees: Ian Ross & Callum Dey
After weeks of turbulent weather which has seen Saints go a full month without a game - it looks (fingers crossed!) as though they'll be back to business with a game away to Bunillidh Thistle at Couper Park tomorrow. The game takes place at its fourth time of asking, having fallen foul of dire storm conditions and excessive rainfall since January.
Both sides will be feeling frustrated having come off of a successful January spell. St. Duthus of course, notably lifted the Football Times Cup with a 3-2 win over Golspie and just a week after recorded an impressive 5-1 home win over Halkirk United. Bunillidh Thistle too are on a two game winning run, having seen off both Halkirk United and Bonar Bridge in 2020 to record their best run of form since rejoining the North Caledonian League's ranks in 2017.
For Saints, a small handful of key players remain unavailable due to injury, Charlie MacDonald and Scott Miller most notably on the sidelines, while midfielder Jon Campbell is serving a one match suspension. Liam Rostock is expected to return from a January knock though, to join an otherwise full strength squad.
Manager Stuart Ross can't wait to get his team back on the field of play following a lengthy break.
The game kicks off at 2pm at Bunillidh's Couper Park in Helmsdale.
