Saints were undone by a last minute for the second weekend in succession on Saturday, this time succumbing to a 2-1 defeat to Golspie Sutherland in the most blustery of conditions.
The home side welcomed back Ross Tokely, James Mackay and Barry Kenny to the starting lineup, with Jake Lockett missing out, and Adam Allan and Alan Geegan dropping to the bench.
St. Duthus started the match in confident fashion and looked like they might be up for a repeat of the free-scoring display from the first half against Orkney the week before getting into good space in forward areas - but the best chance of the opening stages went to Golspie who were awarded a penalty kick for a handball offence. John Allan though, for the second week running, was well up to the task and saved the shot, as the scoreboard remained clear.
With half an hour gone, Ben Bruce was first to really test Jack Duncan in the Golspie nets with a shot that the keeper needed to tip over the bar. The wind was ultimately determined to play its part though, and the game was quickly being ruined as a contest.
The opener eventually arrived for Saints on 37 minutes after Glenn Fell was fouled on the edge of the box. From the resultant set piece, Ben Bruce stepped up to fire his free kick into the net for his third goal of the season.
In the early going of the second half, claims for a Saints penalty, also for handball, were turned won by referee Gavin Dearie who waved play on. Chances continued to fall for both sides, but Saints looked good value for their lead.
The tables were turned on the hour mark though, when an opportunistic Sam Mackay free kick found the net from long range, bringing Golspie back into the game at 1-1.
Bouyed by their equaliser, Golspie pressed for a winner and ultimately netted it in the 90th minute, Robbie Murray turning the ball beyond Allan to secure the points for the his side.
