Jon Campbell signs

ST DUTHUS today completed the signing of trialist Jon Campbell.

The former Brora Rangers midfielder had featured twice for St Duthus as a trialist before agreeing to join the Tain side for the season.

Manager Stuart Ross confirmed the news today.

Jon has been training with us for the last 3 weeks now and has shown himself to be a great addition already in the trial games he has played. We are absolutely delighted to add a player of Jon's quality to the squad. He brings great drive in the midfield and an experienced head for such a young age. I'm looking forward to standing on the touchline every Saturday and having the opportunity to watch him play for the Saints.

There were several teams interested in signing Jon, so we feel especially delighted to now have him committed to St Duthus. I think this is a real sign of the early progress we've made that we are able to sell the club to players of Jon's calibre.

Jon, 20, is the Saints' top scorer so far this season with 3 goals in 2 games, thanks to a superb brace scored against Inverness Athletic last month and an eighth minute corker vs Halkirk United this past weekend.
