THANKS to the generosity of over 40 individuals and several local businesses, over £2,000 has been raised in goodwill donations toward the revival of St Duthus Football Club. A Crowdfunder campaign began in February and ended last night, accepting payments via PayPal and Stripe from supporters, former players and other generous donors. As well as online donations, the club received several cash contributions from supporters and businesses. Club chairman Niall Harkiss spoke of his delight at the response.
"On behalf of the club, I wish to thank everyone who has contributed their hard earned money to our cause to get us off to this excellent start. The funds raised go a long way to lifting us onto the first rung of the ladder as we look to cover our start up costs as a new club. We will do our level best to put a team on the park that you can be proud of."
The club committee now turn their attention to the search for a main sponsor, for their home and away kits, tracksuits and season ahead.
