Friendly: St Duthus 4 Inverness CT (U18) 4

St Duthus welcomed Inverness Caledonian Thistle’s U18 side to Grant Park for the third friendly match of their pre-season campaign on Friday evening, sharing the spoils with four goals a piece.

Saints took the lead after 13 minutes with an opportunistic lob from Ben Bruce flying over the reach of ICT goalkeeper Corey Paterson.

They doubled their advantage just three minutes later through Kyle Mackenzie who found the far corner with a shot from a tight angle, after some good work to beat his man.

Mackenzie struck again on 21 minutes this time with a well taken finish from the edge of the eighteen yard box, curling the ball into the same corner.

Inverness hit back with a goal from Calum Mackay six minutes before the interval to leave the scores at 3-1 in Saints' favour at half time.

It looked like victory was assured when Bruce added a fourth for Saints, tucking the ball into the net from close range on the end of a cut back from Adrian Voigt. But a quickfire double for Caley from Lewis Mackie in the 71st and 73rd minute of the game left the score tight for the remainder of the game.

With seconds left of normal time, the SPFL youngsters got their equaliser, with Mackie grabbing his third and his side's fourth.

Our thanks go to ICT for the game and we send our best wishes for the season ahead.
