Club confirm first batch of player renewals

St Duthus have confirmed the first batch of players who will remain with the club going into the 2023-24.

Ben Bruce
Firstly, we are more than delighted to welcome club captain and striker Ben Bruce back in to the fold for 2023-24. Ben unfortunately missed out on most of last season due to injury before making a return in April. Currently playing amateur football for Lochbroom, he is looking forward to rejoining the Saints squad for the new campaign. Preparing to take part in his fifth full campaign with St Duthus, Ben has played a huge part in the club's cup successes in recent seasons, having scored 52 goals in as many games - averaging one goal every game.

Finn As-Chainey
Having first signed for Saints as a sixteen year old back in 2016, Finn has developed into one of the most influential players in the side, showing great versatility in a variety of positions. One of only a handful of players to have featured in all seven seasons since the club's revival in 2016, Finn has scored 30 goals in 97 appearances. He netted an impressive 10 goals last campaign, made even more remarkable by the fact that he spent a large part of the season in defence.

William Godding
West coaster William joined the club last season and impressed with some man of the match performances and memorable acrobatics in key games for Saints. Playing 15 games over the campaign, he also kept three clean sheets.

Johnny Allan
Now in his fifth season with St Duthus since signing from Stirling Uni, the 26-year-old stopper has played 41 games for the club, keeping a post-revival club record of 12 clean sheets.

Adrian Voigt
Left-footed forward Adrian broke into the first eleven last season after a year on the fringes and turned in several match winning performances, netting seven goals on his way to being named as the club's top young player. Moving into his third season with the club, he is sure to have a big part to play in manager Alan Geegan's plans.

Adam Allan
A former St Duthus young player of the year, Adam has made 58 appearances since joining the club in 2019. Capable of playing anywhere across the back, Ads has established himself as a regular starter and important part of the side.

John Maclellan
Returning to Tain after a long spell working in Dubai, John made 14 appearances for Saints last season, covering position in midfield and attack. During the summer, John has been coaching and playing for summer side Tain Thistle, and has even dusted off the scoring boots!

Shaun Marshall
Making his North Caley debut at just seventeen years old last season, striker Shaun got off to a goalscoring start and caught the eyes of many with several energetic performances throughout the season, making 22 appearances. Currently playing for Lochbroom during the summer with several fellow Saints, we look forward to watching how Shaun develops as a player next season.

Sam Ross
One of Alan Geegan's first signings in 2021, Sam has found regular involvement as a tenacious and hard working full-back for Saints. With 27 appearances under his belt, he has also chipped in with three goals for the club.

Liam Flett
Joining Saints late last season after his release from Bonar Bridge, Liam slotted in at centre half for the club in several games between March and April. The 21-year-old possesses a cool head on young shoulders and is sure to be one to watch for the new campaign.

Stefan MacRitchie
First joining the club in 2019, Stef was an instrumental part of the Saints squad who lifted the Football Times Cup in 2020, before the season prematurely ended in March that year. He returned to the club last summer and now has 40 appearances and 5 goals under his belt for the club, bringing tenacity and commitment to each game he plays.

Will Ross
A long-serving member of the side, Will returned to first team action for 2022-23 after a period of absence due to work commitments, and quickly resumed his role as an integral part of the defence. With 86 appearances in a Saints shirt, and 9 goals, he will be aiming to make it a century this season.
